Focalistic Responds To A Fan Suggesting American Festivals That Dropped Da Baby Replace With Him. Born in GaRankuwa, north of Pretoria, Focalistic real name Lethabo Sebetso has been making boss moves recently with his music releases, and international gigs. Focalistic’s sonic catchphrase, “Ase trap tse ke pina tsa ko kasi” has sealed his superstar status early in his career, and in doing so, he has become the poster boy of genre-blending, the music style of local hip hop and Amapiano.
A Focalistic fan suggested that Focalistic replaces American rapper DaBaby on all the music festivals dropping him. This comes after Focalistic announced that he will be on the line-up of the forthcoming Yam Carnival in London. Focalistic laughed at the suggestion but agreeing that “soon”.
Rapper DaBaby was dropped from the line-up of music festivals for homophobic remarks he made last month. The organizers of the iHeartRadio and Austin City Limits festivals said in statements that DaBaby would no longer be performing at their events. That comes after the American musician was dropped from the Lollapalooza lineup in Chicago last weekend and the upcoming Governor’s Ball in New York and Day N Vegas event in Las Vegas.
DaBaby apologized for a third time on Monday for remarks he made at a July 23 concert in Miami when he asked the audience to hold up their cell phone lights if they “didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will make you die in two to three weeks”. He took to social media on Monday to apologize once more: “I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I knew education on this is important. Love to all. God bless,” the 29-year-old “Rockstar.”
