Award-winning South African singer and songwriter Zee Nxumalo is set to take the international stage alongside Grammy Award-winning artist Olivia Dean after being announced as part of the Milk+Cookies Festival South Africa 2027 line-up.
The festival is scheduled to take place at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on 31 January 2027, bringing together a diverse selection of local and international performers for a major music event. Nxumalo’s inclusion adds another exciting South African name to the bill, placing her alongside some of the artists expected to draw attention at next year’s festival.
Other performers announced for the Johannesburg event include fan-favourite singer Elaine, Chelsea Sloan and Jade T. The line-up brings together artists from different musical backgrounds, offering festivalgoers an opportunity to experience a variety of sounds and performances in one setting.
Organisers confirmed Nxumalo’s participation in the festival, while entertainment channel Urban Street Culture also shared the announcement on its X account.
“Johannesburg, Zee Nxumalo is joining Milk+Cookies lineup 2027,” the channel stated.
Nxumalo’s addition comes as she continues to make her mark on South Africa’s music scene. Known for her contribution to the local music landscape, the singer has continued to attract public attention through her music, performances and moments that spark conversations beyond the stage.
Most recently, the star found herself at the centre of a social media debate after revealing what she did with the R40 000 she received from fellow musician Shebeshxt. The revelation generated discussion online, adding to the attention surrounding the singer in recent weeks.
However, her upcoming Milk+Cookies Festival appearance shifts the focus back to her musical journey and growing opportunities to perform on prominent stages.
Sharing a festival line-up with Olivia Dean is another notable moment for Nxumalo, particularly as South African artists continue to reach audiences through events that bring local and international talent together. Dean, whose career has earned her Grammy recognition, is among the international names set to perform at the Johannesburg event.
For local fans, the festival will provide an opportunity to see Nxumalo perform alongside a varied line-up featuring both established and emerging voices. Elaine’s inclusion also adds another familiar South African name to the programme.
With the event scheduled for 31 January 2027, anticipation will continue to build as festivalgoers look forward to the performances.
Zee Nxumalo’s addition to the Milk+Cookies Festival South Africa line-up places her among the artists set to help open the country’s 2027 festival calendar on a high note.
