South African Amapiano star Kamo Mphela has added another major achievement to her growing list of accolades after winning the Music Video of the Year award for her hit song “Partii” at the 2026 Basadi In Music Awards.

The victory highlights Kamo’s ability to combine music, dance, fashion and visual storytelling into memorable creative experiences. Known for her energetic performances and distinctive style, the star has continued to establish herself as one of the most recognisable entertainers in South Africa.

The Basadi In Music Awards took to Instagram to celebrate Kamo’s achievement, praising the creativity and cultural impact behind her winning visual.

“Kamo Mphela | Music Video of the Year. VISUALS. MOVEMENT. CULTURE. Congratulations to Kamo Mphela, our 2026 Music Video of the Year winner! You brought the music to life and made every frame count,” the awards shared.

The recognition is particularly significant because Kamo has built much of her career around performance and visual expression. Her music videos often extend beyond simply accompanying a song, instead creating spaces where dance, fashion and South African culture come together.

“Partii” provided another opportunity for the artist to showcase that identity. The visual presentation helped strengthen the song while giving audiences another example of Kamo’s creative approach to entertainment.

Her latest award also comes during an important period for women in South African music. The Basadi In Music Awards continue to shine a spotlight on female artists and creatives who are contributing to the growth of the country’s entertainment industry.

For Kamo, the Music Video of the Year trophy adds to a career that has seen her evolve from a dancer and social media sensation into a fully established recording artist and performer. Her ability to move between different aspects of entertainment has played an important role in keeping her relevant in the ever-changing Amapiano landscape.

The win also reflects the growing importance of visuals in modern African music. With social media platforms playing a major role in how songs are discovered and shared, compelling music videos can help artists reach audiences far beyond South Africa.

Kamo Mphela has consistently understood that connection, using her dance ability, personality and visual creativity to create moments that resonate with fans.

As she celebrates another major accolade, the “Partii” victory proves that her artistic impact extends beyond the music itself. With her latest trophy now added to her collection, Kamo Mphela continues to demonstrate why she remains one of the leading figures in South Africa’s entertainment scene.
