Njelic has confidently spoken out about the future of amapiano, making it clear that he believes the genre is far from dying. The respected producer and pioneer recently shared his thoughts on social media following ongoing debates about the current state and quality of amapiano music.

Over the past few months, social media users and music lovers have continued to debate whether amapiano is losing its spark, with some critics claiming that the genre’s quality has started to decline. However, Njelic strongly disagrees with those opinions and believes amapiano still has a long future ahead.

Taking to Twitter, Njelic shared a passionate message defending the genre and celebrating the movement that has grown from South African townships into a global sound.

He wrote:

“Amapiano will endure. As long as Njelic and the many creatives who helped build this movement remain with us, its influence and spirit will continue to thrive.”

The producer continued by reflecting on the genre’s growth and the mission to continue elevating it on international stages.

“We have come to elevate Amapiano even further. From the streets to the global stage, from local dance floors to some of the most prestigious venues in the world.”

Njelic also emphasized the importance of respecting the pioneers who helped shape the sound while inspiring future generations to continue building the culture.

“The mission remains unchanged: to advance the culture, honor the pioneers, inspire future generations, and ensure that Amapiano receives the recognition and respect it rightfully deserves.”

His message quickly sparked conversations online, with many fans agreeing that amapiano still remains one of the most influential genres in Africa today. Others praised Njelic for standing up for the culture and reminding people of how far the movement has come over the years.

Amapiano has grown tremendously since its early underground beginnings, becoming a global genre embraced by international artists, DJs, and fans worldwide. Major stars like Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, and Uncle Waffles continue to perform on major global stages, further proving the genre’s international reach.

Despite criticism about repetitive sounds and oversaturation in the industry, many supporters believe amapiano is simply evolving into new forms and styles. Fans argue that every major genre experiences phases of criticism while continuing to grow creatively over time.

For Njelic, amapiano is much more than just music.

“This is more than music. It is our story, our sound, and our legacy. The vision is global, and this journey is only beginning.”

With pioneers like Njelic continuing to push the culture forward, amapiano’s future still appears bright and full of possibility.
