South African artists The Big Hash, Kabza De Small, and Sly are celebrating a major milestone after their collaborative EP Love Is A Star surpassed 1 million streams less than two weeks after its official release.

The project, which dropped on May 8, quickly captured the attention of music lovers across streaming platforms and social media. By May 18, exactly 10 days after its release, the EP had already accumulated over 1 million streams across major digital platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

The impressive streaming numbers highlight the strong reception the project has received from listeners since its arrival. Fans have praised the EP for its unique blend of sounds, with the collaboration successfully bringing together hip hop, amapiano, and melodic influences into one cohesive project.

The achievement was officially confirmed by Sony Music through a celebratory social media post congratulating the artists on reaching the milestone within such a short period.

“Help us congratulate @thebighash, @sly_mndawe & @kabelomotha_’s ‘Love Is A Star’ collab project for amassing over 1 MILLION streams in just 10 days. Thank you to everyone that’s been jamming!” the label wrote.

Since its release, Love Is A Star has continued generating strong engagement online, with listeners sharing reactions to their favorite tracks and praising the chemistry between the three artists. Many fans highlighted how refreshing it was to hear different musical worlds merge so naturally on one project.

The Big Hash brought his signature lyrical style and emotional storytelling to the EP, while Kabza De Small added his internationally recognized amapiano production touch. Sly’s melodic contributions also helped shape the project’s smooth and emotional atmosphere, creating a sound that resonated with a wide audience.

The success of the EP further demonstrates the growing power of collaborative projects in South Africa’s music industry. Streaming platforms continue playing a huge role in helping artists reach audiences quickly, and Love Is A Star is proving to be one of the standout local releases of the month.

For Kabza De Small, the milestone adds yet another achievement to an already legendary career, while The Big Hash and Sly continue proving their versatility and growing influence within modern South African music.

Fans have continued streaming the project heavily across digital platforms, helping maintain its momentum even after its first week of release. Many listeners believe the EP still has the potential to reach even bigger milestones as word continues spreading online.

With more than 1 million streams already achieved in just 10 days, Love Is A Star has officially established itself as one of the most successful and talked-about collaborative projects currently making waves in South African music.
