South African amapiano vocalist Zee Nxumalo has opened up about her emotional experience following the recent Metro FM Music Awards, where she walked away without winning despite receiving seven nominations.

The talented singer recently reflected on the award night and admitted that she barely had time to process what had happened because of her demanding performance schedule. Although many fans and industry figures were shocked that she did not secure any awards, Zee Nxumalo explained that life moved so fast after the ceremony that she could not immediately sit down and fully absorb the disappointment.

“I don’t think there was time for us to feel. Honestly, there was no time for us to feel anything,” she shared.

According to Zee Nxumalo, her schedule remained packed throughout the weekend, forcing her to continue focusing on performances and travel commitments despite the emotional weight of the awards outcome.

“Cause besiqeda uku perform(a) eKZN, we were flying to Sun City, and then they were happening when we were at Sun City. After Sun City, we had to go back to Joburg,” she explained.

The singer revealed that it was only later, when messages from industry peers and supporters started flooding her phone, that she realized how much attention people were paying to the situation.

“Only on Sunday when my phone was now blowing off… then I was like, yo, kusho ukuthi this thing was a big deal like that,” she said.

Despite the disappointment of losing all seven nominations, Zee Nxumalo maintained a calm and professional attitude, choosing to continue showing up for her fans and honoring her performance commitments. Many supporters praised her maturity and dedication, especially considering the emotional pressure artists often face during award season.

Social media users also applauded the singer for handling the situation gracefully and remaining focused on her career instead of allowing the setback to discourage her. Fans pointed out that simply receiving seven nominations already reflected how much impact she has made within the music industry.

Over the past few years, Zee Nxumalo has steadily become one of the rising stars in amapiano through her unique vocals, energetic performances, and growing catalogue of hits. Her increasing popularity has positioned her among the exciting new-generation artists helping shape the future of South African music.

Many fans believe her time to win major awards will eventually come, especially given the consistency and growth she continues showing in her career.

Although the Metro FM Awards night may not have ended the way she hoped, Zee Nxumalo’s response highlighted her resilience, professionalism, and commitment to her supporters. Instead of dwelling on disappointment, she continued working and putting her fans first — something many people admired even more than an award win itself.

For Zee Nxumalo, the journey clearly continues, and fans remain confident that bigger victories still lie ahead for the talented vocalist.
