Amapiano hitmaker Zee Nxumalo has once again found herself at the centre of online conversation after sharing an unapologetically lavish birthday wish list that quickly sent social media into a frenzy. The Mama singer, who is set to celebrate her birthday on Tuesday, 6 January, made it clear that this year, luxury is the only acceptable theme.
Taking to Facebook, Nxumalo revealed that she is no longer interested in receiving perfumes and would rather be spoiled with high-end designer items, premium tech gadgets, or even straight cash. Her post was soon reposted on X, where it sparked widespread debate, attracting both praise and criticism.
In her candid post, the singer didn’t hold back. “My birthday is in two days. [My] wishlist is a Dior bag/Dior sandals, or any Dior item. Buy me shares at JSE. A 40-inch wig (premium quality), maybe iPhone 17 Pro Max. I have enough perfume, I do not need them,” she wrote.
The list grew even more extravagant as she added Burberry swimwear, a Mahele for her bus, and some eye-catching big-ticket items. “Pay registration for one of my fans. A 45 AMG Sport [car]. 300K hard-core cash. Or just buy me a Zee Nxumalo 2 Piece from The Fix. I don’t have it. It’s always sold out,” she added, mixing humour, ambition, and bold confidence.
Reactions online were sharply divided. While many fans applauded her self-assurance and ability to manifest big dreams, others — particularly male users — were less impressed. Some accused her of having unrealistic expectations, with one critic commenting, “She thinks she is Beyoncé, this one. She is just a good singer. Just beauty without depth!” Another questioned her finances, asking whether she doesn’t earn enough from royalties and booking fees.
Despite the backlash, plenty of supporters came to her defence. Some fans were unfazed by the extravagance, with one user confidently responding, “And she will get everything ke sana,” suggesting that the star’s influence and success make the wish list entirely achievable.
Zee Nxumalo has much to celebrate. She has enjoyed a phenomenal run in the South African music scene, dominating charts and playlists with hits such as “Ngisakuthanda.” In December 2025, she was named the most-streamed artist in South Africa, surpassing 100 million streams, a milestone that cemented her place among the country’s most successful young musicians.
Whether viewed as bold, humorous, or controversial, one thing is certain — Zee Nxumalo knows how to command attention, and her birthday wish list has once again proven her star power both on and off the stage.
