Zimbabwean-born songstress Sha Sha, also known as the “Queen of Amapiano,” is making waves once again with her latest hits, “Ndawana” and “Eglasini.” After a brief break from the music scene, the BET Award-winning artist returned with a bang, solidifying her place as one of the biggest female stars in the genre.
Sha Sha opened up about her creative process and how a laid-back studio session led to the birth of her latest hit, “Eglasini.” Speaking to Briefly News, she explained that producer Tyler ICU had sent her several beats, but one particular track caught her attention. From there, she reached out to Scotts Maphuma and 2woshort to help bring the song to life.
“I think the vibe in the studio and the energy in the studio kind of inspired what the record was going to be, ‘cuz it was so laid-back and chilled,” she shared. “We said, ‘Let’s make a party song, a good time song,’ and just went with the vibe.”
Her other single, “Ndawana,” featuring Kelvin Momo and Skyes, has also been making waves, proving once again why Sha Sha is a force to be reckoned with in the Amapiano scene.
Despite her success, Sha Sha remains humble and focused on her fans. She emphasized the importance of staying connected through interviews, social media content, and new music releases.
“My fans are everything to me. I always make sure to keep them updated and engaged with my journey,” she stated.
While Sha Sha has already conquered the Amapiano scene in South Africa, she has her eyes set on breaking into the international market. She expressed her dream of collaborating with Afrobeats stars like Tems and Ayra Starr, believing that a fusion of Amapiano and Afrobeats could create something truly magical.
With her latest bangers dominating the airwaves, Sha Sha is proving that she is far from done—her reign as the Queen of Amapiano is only just beginning.
