The Amapiano duo TxC has been honored as Spotify’s Equal Africa Ambassador for this month, marking a significant milestone in their rapidly ascending career. Recognized for their contributions both locally and internationally, TxC is making substantial waves in the Amapiano industry.

TxC, consisting of Tarryn Reid and Claire Rousell, has become a force to be reckoned with, known for their infectious beats and dynamic performances. Their selection as Spotify’s Equal Africa Ambassador showcases not only their talent but also their influence in a genre traditionally dominated by male artists.

In response to this prestigious recognition, TxC shared their thoughts on working in a male-dominated industry. “Working in a space that has been male-dominated for such a long time has had its fair share of challenges but has also been so much more rewarding. When we first started, we had to prove ourselves ten times more to be considered worthy within this specific music scene,” they said. “Now, as time has evolved, women have been more accepted within the space, which is such a proud feeling. We’re delighted to be part of such a prestigious program as Equal.”

They continued, “Seeing women celebrated and recognized for the work and effort they put into their craft is always rewarding, so we thank Spotify for such an elite and well-rounded program.”

TxC’s journey in the Amapiano scene has been nothing short of remarkable. Their unique sound and ability to connect with audiences have set them apart, leading to numerous collaborations with top artists both in South Africa and internationally. Their rise to prominence is a testament to their dedication and talent, breaking barriers and setting new standards in the music industry.

The Equal Africa program by Spotify aims to foster gender equality in the music industry by amplifying the voices of female artists. By selecting TxC as ambassadors, Spotify is not only recognizing their artistic achievements but also supporting the broader movement towards inclusivity and diversity in music.

With TXC’s their latest accolade, TxC is set to inspire a new generation of musicians and fans, proving that hard work, talent, and determination can break any barrier. Their journey is a celebration of women in music, and their contributions are paving the way for future artists in the industry.
