Toss, the hitmaker behind “uMlando” and a prominent Amapiano artist, recently shed light on the incident where he collapsed on stage during a performance in an interview with the “Spreading Humour” podcast. Speaking with Uncle Vinny, Seemah, and Zeelewizzy, Toss offered insights into what led to the incident and the challenges he faced during that time.

Recalling the events of that fateful night, Toss explained that it occurred during the early days of the success of “uMlando” when he was eager to capitalize on every performance opportunity. He revealed that he and his team would often undertake multiple gigs in a single night, sometimes up to ten shows. However, the demanding schedule began to take a toll on his health, and he started feeling unwell.

“I started feeling like my body was acting different,” Toss recounted. Despite expressing his concerns to his manager about his condition, financial pressures compelled him to proceed with the performance. “I don’t think this gig I can operate because it came out of nowhere, it was not planned for, and I don’t feel good,” Toss recalled telling his manager.

Even as he made his way to the venue, Toss’s health continued to deteriorate. “I’m even passing out in the car going to the gig, I couldn’t even stand straight. I could not sit on the chair, I had to sit down on the floor to feel comfortable,” he revealed. Upon arrival, he struggled to maintain his composure, eventually collapsing on stage during his performance of “uMlando.”

Reflecting on the harrowing experience, Toss admitted, “I could feel it’s over for me“Holding the mic going to the stage I’m already shaking. So I performed my first song, second song and when it got to “uMlando” I could feel it’s over for me. But I could not stop because the crowd is hyped up but im like maybe I can finish it then I don’t know what happened after the thought.” Only to wake up later in Soweto, having passed out on stage due to exhaustion.

Following the incident, Toss received support and guidance from fellow artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Kabza De Small, Maphorisa, and Oscar Mbo. “They actually reached out after that day and said pull up and let’s talk,” Toss revealed. Their advice provided him with valuable insights into managing his workload and prioritizing his health in the future.

Toss’s candid revelations offer a glimpse into the challenges faced by artists in the music industry, underscoring the importance of striking a balance between career aspirations and personal well-being. As a prominent figure in the Amapiano genre, Toss’s resilience serves as an inspiration to aspiring musicians navigating the complexities of the industry.
