Fans can look forward to grooving through the Easter holidays to the infectious beats of DJ 13een’s latest Amapiano single, “Bawo.”
Cavin Oupa Sindane, known by his stage name DJ 13een, came all the way from Mamelodi but is now based in Brits, North West. He is gearing up to release “Bawo” on March 29, making it available on all major digital streaming platforms, including Spotify.
According to DJ 13een, the single has been in production since last year, and he collaborated with local artists from Brits, including Casmo Marsiano and Kayrose. Speaking about the upcoming release, he shared, “We have been producing the song since last year. I worked with Casmo Marsiano and Kayrose, both from North West.” Additionally, “Bawo” will serve as the opening track for his forthcoming Soulful Amapiano album.
Having been in the music industry for over two decades, DJ 13een has established himself as a versatile artist, delving into various genres such as deep house, afro house, and now, amapiano. He has also collaborated with numerous acclaimed industry artists, solidifying his name in the industry. “We have a song with Shimza; he’s one of the people I worked with. I worked with Black Coffee, DJ Zinhle, Black Motion, Maphorisa, Vigro Deep, and Christos,” he revealed.
DJ 13een’s journey in the music industry took a significant turn when he signed with Mathuthuka Corporation, a global entertainment company known for its innovative approach to crafting captivating content and experiences. Amahle Shonga, marketing manager at Mathuthuka Corporation, described the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality entertainment across various mediums.
With his previous hit, “Bafana ba di Polo,” amassing over 20,000 views on YouTube in less than six months, DJ 13een is poised to elevate his career further. He expressed his intentions to collaborate with more industry players and expand his brand internationally. “Looking ahead, I will continue to make waves in the music industry with unwavering commitment to my craft and have great collaborations with other artists. I am inspired to leave a lasting legacy and remain as a true South African legend,” he affirmed.
