Busiswa On Ending Music Hiatus With Amapiano Project.Busiswa Gqulu, popularly known as Busiswa is a South African singer-songwriter and poet. Born in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa, she gained public recognition for her feature on DJ Zinhle’s song, “My Name Is”, after being discovered by Kalawa Jazmee’s CEO Oskido.

The track Eazy is her first public attempt at amapiano, and the move seems to have worked. Busiswa is also enamoured with the way things are going with local music at present. “I’m grown, I’m more experimental, I’m mixing up the singing. I’m experienced now as well. I’m just having fun with it and I’m trying to keep it fun and make sure that it comes across that I’m happy and I’m having a good time,” she told News24.

She occupied herself during this period of stasis, not a hiatus, by recording a lot of music which she is now in the frame of mind to let the world hear.”I just wasn’t releasing, and I just haven’t felt like I have the messages that I want to bring, I didn’t have the energy I wanted to bring”she said.

“I just felt like I’m going through a lot of changes in my own life, and I want to be true to myself with the messages and the kind of things that I’m promoting and pushing in the industry with my music. I wanted to just find a sound that is true to me,” Busiswa added while talking to News24.
