Amapiano Awards Set To Take Place Next Month. The awards ceremony was supposed to take place on 2 April 2023 at the SunBet Arena, but was postponed. The organisers have now announced on social media that the awards will be held in November 2023, and that the date and venue will be announced soon.

Founder of the awards, Qhubani “Qness” Ndlovu spoke to Daily Sun about why they changed the dates. “We’ve been engaging several stakeholders to grow the entity and make it bigger. Amapiano is no longer a genre or a sound. It’s a culture and a movement that has now taken over the whole world. We needed to ensure we fully equip ourselves with all the necessary resources to capture the magnitude of the whole genre and culture in its entirety.

Qness also said they have bagged the shoe brand, Bathu as a sponsor. “It can only get better. We were privileged to have the prominent local shoe brand Bathu come on board as our main sponsor and together we have formed a partnership like no other.”

“This year we have such big shoes to fill as the spotlight is on us as the custodian of the amapiano culture, not only in the country, but across Africa and the rest of the world. Amapiano is such a big movement now, and we couldn’t be prouder to have a role at the forefront to propel this movement forward,” said Qness
