The up-coming artist is inspired to adopt his stage name from the robotics bloke Chad Smith (Mad Chad).The young artist developed an interest in dancing when he was fifteen. Robot Boii drew his inspiration from several videos including Mad Chad.

2023 will mark the second edition of the Awards since they first took place in 2021 at the Sandton Convention Center 23 October 2021. This year, the event will be held at Sun Arena on April 2, 2023, with the theme “Amapiano to the World.” Robot Boii will host the second annual South African Amapiano Awards.
