DJ Jaivane’s “Baxolele” Goes Double Platinum. First there was kwaito, then house and then gqom was the talk of the town. Now South Africans are jamming to a new kind of beat.Amapiano isn’t only dominating dance floors all over the country, it’s taken over everything from the airwaves to township streets. It’s hard to pin down exactly where the genre fits in, but the sound combines deep house music with an upbeat jazzy piano. And it has made the likes of DJ Jaivane quite popular.

DJ Jaivane’s real name is Luyanda Mlonzi. He was born on the 9th of July 1992. Jaivane is from Diepkloof in Soweto. In the early days of his music career, the DJ got little or nothing from the disc jockey hustling, but he had to provide for him family. Today, Dj Jaivane is a dominating force in the realm of Amapiano and Soulful music, and during this time he has gained influence and helped pushed the genre to its current height.

One of his biggest hit singles titled ‘Baxolele’ has been certified double platinum as it has reached 5 million streams. The star took to social media to share the news with his fans and supporters, saying that nothing is accidental but rather the universe is responsible for it.

Simnandi records boss, Dj Jaivane has reportedly been granted bail after he and four others were arrested for illegal possession of firearms earlier this week. The event happened at West Park Cemetery in Johannesburg during the burial of late Dj Vintos (Hector Buthelezi). It was reported by Dailysun that Jaivane alongside his four friends were arrested for firing unlicensed guns at the said funeral.
