Black Twitter React To Maphorisa’s ‘Broken’ English. Born Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, the 34-year-old has mastered the art of maintaining relevance not only by staying abreast of sonic trends, but also by finding clever ways to keep the public engaged. That spirit, and his exceptional talent, has allowed him to stay on top of his game for the best part of a decade now. Just when you think you’ve got Maphorisa all figured out, he flips the script. Again and again.

DJ Maphorisa found himself trending on social media with black Twitter discussing his ‘broken’ English. It started when Maphorisa tweeted “my mis my friend” which fans predicted that he wanted to write “I miss my friend” and it wasn’t too long till he was dominating on the trends list.

In 2020, DJ Maphorisa shrugged off criticism of his English language skills, after he was dragged for a tweet about car racing. The star had the TLs hella confused recently when took to Twitter to weigh in on drifting and called out his rival Prince Kaybee’s English skills. In a tweet, he repeated Kaybee’s argument, and urged him to use proper English.

Soon the receipts from fans were flowing and Phori was also lambasted for his English language skills.Phori was not having any of it and hit back, saying he wasn’t fluent in English and wasn’t about to lose sleep over it.“I am going to be honest, I don’t know English that well and I am proud (of it),” he wrote.

Iam gonna be honest i dnt knw english dat well n iam proud 😂😂😂
