South African music sensation Tyla is set to receive one of the biggest honours of her career when she returns home for the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32). The two-time Grammy Award winner will be presented with the prestigious International Achievement Award at the ceremony, celebrating her remarkable impact on the global music scene.

SAMA32 is scheduled to take place on 15 August 2026 at the Sun City Superbowl, bringing together leading artists, industry figures and music lovers for one of the biggest nights on the South African entertainment calendar.

Tyla’s International Achievement Award recognises the extraordinary success she has achieved beyond the country’s borders. In just a few years, the Johannesburg-born star has transformed herself into a global music powerhouse, introducing audiences around the world to her distinctive sound and helping place South African music and culture firmly in the international spotlight.

Her return to South Africa is being supported by AfriPure, the proudly South African beauty brand sponsoring the International Achievement Award. The partnership reflects the brand’s commitment to celebrating African talent, creativity, confidence and ambition.

Grant Heynes, entrepreneur and co-founder of AfriPure, said supporting the recognition was a natural fit for the brand.

“When we were approached with the opportunity to play a part in recognizing Tyla’s global achievement, here at home, it felt like a natural fit for a beauty brand to align with the biggest A-pop star,” he said.

Heynes believes Tyla represents the ambition and confidence AfriPure wants to champion.

“Tyla represents the confidence, creativity and global ambition that we believe in at AfriPure, and we are proud to support a moment that celebrates her achievements on home soil,” he added.

Tyla’s influence extends beyond her chart success. Her ability to blend South African musical influences with contemporary pop has helped create a sound that resonates with audiences across continents. Her international rise has also contributed to greater global attention for South African artists and the country’s diverse musical culture.

Heynes described Tyla as a powerful representation of a new generation of South African talent, highlighting her fearless ambition and creative excellence.

For Tyla, receiving the award on home soil adds another special dimension to an already extraordinary journey. From her beginnings in Johannesburg to becoming a globally recognised, two-time Grammy-winning artist, her story continues to inspire a generation of African creatives.

SAMA32 will therefore be more than an awards ceremony for Tyla. It will be a homecoming celebration and a recognition of how far South African talent can travel when creativity, identity and ambition meet the global stage.
