South African singer and songwriter Makhanj is celebrating a major achievement following the impressive performance of her debut album, “Transkei,” on Apple Music.

The rising star has quickly made her presence felt in the music industry, and the latest milestone marks another important moment in what is shaping up to be an exciting career. Despite being her first full-length album, “Transkei” has already managed to make a significant impact on the Apple Music charts.

Makhanj took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement with her supporters, revealing that the album had reached No. 11 across all genres and No. 2 on the Amapiano chart.

Sharing her excitement, she wrote: “Guys number 11 on all genres and number 2 on amapiano. Glory to God to the fullest! Thank you for sharing and downloading and and and. Andonwabe o oh Ndiyabulela ninani. Everyone on this project?? oh guys you have my heart. Everyone sharing and playing? I’m so thankful.”

The milestone is particularly significant because “Transkei” represents Makhanj’s debut album. Reaching such high positions so early in her album journey demonstrates the growing interest in her music and the connection she has already established with listeners.

The project also reflects Makhanj’s musical identity and her ability to blend different elements of South African music. Her journey has seen her become increasingly involved in the Amapiano space while maintaining a strong connection to her isiXhosa roots and cultural identity.

“Transkei” has allowed Makhanj to introduce audiences to her sound on a much larger scale, while also bringing together several respected names from the South African music industry. The album’s reception suggests that listeners are responding positively to both her artistic direction and the story behind the project.

For Makhanj, the Apple Music achievement is more than simply a chart position. It represents the support of fans who have streamed, downloaded, shared and recommended the album since its release.

Her emotional message also showed how much she appreciates everyone who contributed to bringing “Transkei” to life. From collaborators and producers to supporters streaming the project, Makhanj credited the collective effort behind the album’s success.

As a debut album, “Transkei” has already given Makhanj plenty to celebrate. Ranking No. 11 across all genres and No. 2 on the Amapiano chart places the rising artist in an impressive position and signals that her journey is only beginning.

With her first album already making waves, Makhanj is proving that she has the talent and vision to build a lasting name for herself in South African music.
