Angekebabuye MC is putting his name alongside some of the biggest names in African music after hinting at what could become a major cross-border collaboration with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz. The rising South African Amapiano vocalist, MC and lyricist has sparked excitement around an upcoming track titled “Tse Monate,” which is set to bring together an impressive lineup of talent from South Africa and Tanzania.
The highly anticipated collaboration will reportedly feature Angekebabuye MC alongside Diamond Platnumz, Xduppy, DJ Maphorisa, Focalistic, Ricky Lenyora and Uncool MC. With so many influential names attached to one record, “Tse Monate” is already shaping up to be a major release.
Angekebabuye MC took to Instagram to give fans an early glimpse of what is being prepared. Sharing teasers from the upcoming project, he wrote, “WE GOT SOMETHING COMING WITH @diamondplatnumz 🥷🇿🇦x🇹🇿”, before adding, “TSE MONATE DROPPING SOON!”
The announcement immediately raised anticipation among fans, particularly because of the collaboration’s potential to connect two of Africa’s biggest music markets. South African Amapiano continues to expand across the continent and beyond, while Tanzania’s Bongo Flava scene has produced some of the continent’s biggest stars. Bringing these musical worlds together could result in an exciting cross-cultural release.
Diamond Platnumz’s involvement is especially significant. The Tanzanian superstar has consistently demonstrated an ability to explore different African sounds and collaborate across borders. His possible contribution to an Amapiano-driven record could introduce “Tse Monate” to an even wider audience across East Africa and the rest of the continent.
At the centre of the collaboration is Xduppy, whose creative relationship with Angekebabuye MC has continued to grow. The pair recently worked together on the joint EP Ama Royale, strengthening their musical chemistry and creating momentum for even bigger collaborations.
For Angekebabuye MC, “Tse Monate” arrives at an important stage in his career. Known for his high-energy ad-libs, distinctive vocal presence and lyrical delivery, he has steadily carved out his own space in the Amapiano movement.
The involvement of DJ Maphorisa and Focalistic adds even more star power, while Ricky Lenyora and Uncool MC further strengthen the South African connection surrounding the release.
Adding to the excitement, the project has reportedly moved beyond the studio, with an official music video already filmed in South Africa. This suggests that “Tse Monate” is being prepared as a full-scale release rather than simply remaining an online teaser.
With South Africa and Tanzania represented by an exciting lineup of established stars and rising talent, “Tse Monate” could become one of the most talked-about cross-border Amapiano collaborations of the year.
For now, fans will have to wait for the official release date, but one thing is clear: Angekebabuye MC has something big on the way.
