“Thank you, Amapiano! You have allowed me to be myself, express who I am and be a part of a huge movement that has touched so many people all over the world,” she said.
The singer recalled a defining moment that made her realise just how global Amapiano had become. During her first performance at Afro Nation, she was recognised by a fan from Germany—an experience she never expected.
“I remember the first time I went to Afro Nation, a German woman recognised me, and I never expected that. It was after this that I realised how much impact this genre has,” she explained.
Sha Sha’s contribution to Amapiano is undeniable. Through timeless hits such as Tender Love, Love You Tonight, Something About You, and Mthande, she helped define the melodic and soulful side of the genre during its formative years. Her vocal performances became a blueprint for many artists who followed, inspiring a new generation of singers to embrace Amapiano as a platform for storytelling and emotional expression.
After stepping away from the spotlight for two years to focus on her mental health and personal growth, Sha Sha made her highly anticipated return in 2024. Since then, she has continued reconnecting with fans through powerful live performances while embracing a renewed sense of purpose.

“At the end of the day, this is a calling. It’s my calling, and it’s spiritual. I may be here as an artist, but I’m also here to serve,” she shared.

“We all want to be comfortable and stay in a certain place, and fortunately, in this career, because we’re here to serve and show up, there has to be that death—the death of your old self and how you used to do things,” she said.
Although she has already released two singles this year, Sha Sha revealed that fans can expect even more music before the end of 2026. Remaining true to her quiet approach, she chose not to reveal too many details.
“I like to work in silence and let the work do the noise,” she said.
