South African music continues to dominate the global stage as some of the country’s biggest artists take their talents to Afro Nation Portugal 2026, one of the world’s premier celebrations of African music and culture. Leading the charge are Kelvin Momo, Tyla, Zee Nxumalo, Uncle Waffles, and several other stars who are proudly flying the South African flag before an international audience.

Held from 3 to 5 July 2026 at the iconic Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão, Portugal, Afro Nation has established itself as the world’s biggest Afrobeats and urban music beach festival. Since its launch in 2019, the event has brought together thousands of music lovers from across the globe to celebrate African music, fashion, food, and culture.

Among the festival’s biggest attractions is South African global superstar Tyla, who is set to perform as one of the event’s major headliners. Following her remarkable international success and Grammy-winning career, Tyla continues to cement her place among the biggest names in world music. Her performance on Friday, 3 July, is expected to be one of the festival’s standout moments.

She shares the lineup with international heavyweights including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake, Gunna, and Kehlani, reflecting just how far African music has grown on the global stage.

South Africa’s presence, however, extends far beyond Tyla. Amapiano is once again taking center stage through the festival’s popular Piano People stage, which is dedicated to showcasing the genre’s finest talents.

Among those representing the country are Kelvin Momo, whose soulful and emotionally rich productions have earned him worldwide acclaim, Zee Nxumalo, one of the fastest-rising young stars in South African music, and Uncle Waffles, whose electrifying DJ performances continue to captivate audiences around the world.

They are joined by an impressive lineup of fellow South African artists, including Focalistic, Daliwonga, LeeMcKrazy, MaWhoo, Felo Le Tee, and Madumane, further highlighting the strength and global influence of the country’s music scene.

For many of these artists, performing at Afro Nation represents more than just another international booking. It is an opportunity to introduce Amapiano and South African culture to thousands of fans from different parts of the world while strengthening the genre’s ever-growing international footprint.

The festival continues to serve as an important platform for African artists, celebrating not only Afrobeats but also Amapiano, Afro-house, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, and R&B. Its mission of uniting the African diaspora through music has made it one of the most influential cultural events on the global entertainment calendar.

As Kelvin Momo, Tyla, Zee Nxumalo, Uncle Waffles, and their fellow South African artists take to the stage, they are not only representing themselves but also showcasing the incredible creativity, diversity, and excellence of South African music.

Their performances at Afro Nation Portugal 2026 are yet another reminder that Amapiano’s global rise is showing no signs of slowing down.
