The Amapiano movement continues to make history as Scorpion Kings Live: A Family Affair has officially sold over 70,000 tickets in just one week, putting the event on track to become the second biggest concert ever hosted at FNB Stadium.

Curated by Amapiano pioneers DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, the highly anticipated concert is scheduled to take place on 19 September 2026. Since tickets officially went on sale on 5 May, the response from fans has been nothing short of extraordinary, further proving the global dominance and cultural impact of Amapiano music.

According to organizers, more than 500,000 fans queued online in hopes of securing tickets through Webtickets, creating one of the most intense ticket-buying moments South Africa has ever seen. With demand exceeding supply by more than six times, the event has quickly become one of the fastest-selling stadium concerts in the country’s history.

The impressive sales milestone now places Scorpion Kings Live on course to become the second largest event ever held at FNB Stadium, behind only U2’s legendary concert, which attracted approximately 88,000 fans.

In response to overwhelming demand, the Scorpion Kings team has reportedly submitted an application to release an additional 10,000 tickets. If approved, the expanded capacity would move the event even closer to breaking historic attendance records at the iconic stadium.

Reflecting on the incredible support from fans, DJ Maphorisa shared his gratitude, saying, “The love has been on another level. Seeing fans show up and stay with us all the way just to get tickets means everything. We don’t take that for granted — this moment is because of them.”

Kabza De Small echoed similar sentiments, adding, “We’re grateful to every single person who waited and showed us love. That patience, that support — this is what ‘A Family Affair’ is about. This is bigger than us, it’s for the culture and for the people.”

More than just a concert, Scorpion Kings Live has evolved into a major cultural phenomenon that celebrates the unity and influence of Amapiano around the world. This year’s theme, A Family Affair, highlights the connection between artists, collaborators, and fans who continue to push the genre to new heights internationally.

As excitement continues to build, fans can expect a world-class production, electrifying performances, and unforgettable moments that reflect the scale of Amapiano’s global rise. More announcements, including potential ticket expansions and special surprises, are expected in the coming weeks as the countdown to September continues.
