South African artist Ciza has opened up about the major role that Oscar Mbo played in helping launch his music career, revealing that the celebrated producer supported him long before he became a recognized name in the Amapiano scene.

Speaking during an interview on Metro FM, Ciza reflected on his musical journey and how important industry support was during the early days of his breakout hit “Isaka (6am).” The conversation comes as the two artists recently joined forces on their latest collaborative single, “Mngani Wam,” which is expected to appear on Ciza’s upcoming project titled Ciza’s Palace.

During the interview, Ciza credited Oscar Mbo for believing in him from the beginning, at a time when he was still trying to establish himself within the music industry. According to the singer, Oscar Mbo’s support played a crucial role in exposing his music to a wider audience.

“Oscar Mbo supported me from day one, he’s one of the guys who helped Isaka blow up,” Ciza shared.

The artist also spoke about how performance opportunities helped boost his visibility and connect him with the growing Amapiano audience. He recalled a key moment when he was invited to perform at one of the popular Balcony Mix events hosted by Major League DJz. The Balcony Mix platform became globally recognized during the COVID-19 lockdown period for showcasing Amapiano and house music through stylish outdoor and rooftop performances.

According to Ciza, Oscar Mbo helped create that opportunity by giving him a chance to shine on stage during one of the events.

“It actually blew up at one of the twins’ show, Balcony Mix. He put me on stage, gave me the shine at the time,” he explained.

The exposure proved to be a major turning point in Ciza’s career, as “Isaka (6am)” soon gained momentum and eventually became one of the standout Amapiano tracks in South Africa. Fans connected with the song’s infectious energy, helping establish Ciza as one of the promising voices within the genre.

Now, years later, Ciza says working with Oscar Mbo again feels like a full-circle moment. Their new collaboration, “Mngani Wam,” symbolizes not only their musical chemistry but also the journey they have shared from the early days of Ciza’s career to their current success.

The interview has since resonated with fans online, with many praising Oscar Mbo for supporting upcoming talent and helping nurture the next generation of Amapiano stars.
