Zee Nxumalo Brings Fresh Energy to PUMA’s New H-Street Campaign

Amapiano star Zee Nxumalo is stepping into the fashion spotlight as the face of PUMA’s South African campaign for the H-Street sneaker, bringing her signature energy and youthful flair to the brand’s latest release. Known for her growing influence in the music industry, Nxumalo now finds herself at the intersection of music, fashion, and street culture, leading a campaign that celebrates individuality and everyday style.

The H-Street campaign forms part of PUMA’s broader global rollout, which is fronted internationally by K-Pop icon Rosé. While the global campaign highlights international pop culture, the South African edition taps directly into the pulse of local culture by spotlighting Zee Nxumalo, one of the country’s most exciting emerging amapiano voices.

Inspired by PUMA’s design archives, the H-Street sneaker carries a legacy that dates back more than two decades. Originally introduced as a lifestyle silhouette in 2003, the sneaker has now been refreshed for 2026, blending its performance-inspired heritage with modern design elements suited for today’s streetwear landscape.

While the shoe may draw inspiration from athletic roots, the new campaign places it firmly in everyday suburban life. The visuals depict a slightly surreal yet familiar setting — backyard braais, neighbourhood hangouts, and relaxed street scenes that reflect everyday South African culture. It’s a reminder that style doesn’t only belong on the runway or stage; it lives in the streets and in daily moments shared with friends and community.

For Zee Nxumalo, the partnership feels natural. As an artist who spends much of her time moving between studio sessions, performances, and travel, comfort and versatility are essential when it comes to her style.

Speaking about the sneaker, Nxumalo shared:
“I’m always on the move, whether it’s performing or travelling, so I need something that feels light and easy to wear. I love that the H-Street gives me that, but still has that edge that pulls a whole look together.”

Her involvement also highlights how deeply amapiano culture continues to influence fashion and youth identity in South Africa. As the genre continues to dominate globally, its artists are increasingly becoming cultural ambassadors not only for music but also for style and lifestyle trends.

With the reintroduction of the H-Street silhouette, PUMA is reinforcing its position in the growing low-profile sneaker trend, a space where sport-inspired design meets modern street aesthetics.

By partnering with Zee Nxumalo, the brand successfully taps into the voice of a new generation — one that values authenticity, creativity, and cultural connection.

As amapiano continues to shape the global perception of South African culture, Zee Nxumalo’s collaboration with PUMA proves that the movement is influencing far more than just music — it’s shaping the future of fashion and street culture as well.
