Tyla is stepping into a bold new chapter of her career as she officially announces her upcoming sophomore studio album titled A-POP. Already a global star with a rapidly growing legacy, the South African sensation is once again making waves, this time by offering fans a deeper, more personal look into who she is becoming—both as an artist and as a woman.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Tyla reflected on how different this era feels compared to the whirlwind that surrounded her debut album. “Me being in it, I feel so different to how I felt during the first album,” she shared. “So I’m just excited for my new one that’s coming this year. Just to see how different it is like… what’s this Tyla now?” Her words signal a clear shift in mindset, maturity, and creative confidence.

Tyla explained that her first album was created during an intense period of overnight success, where everything happened fast and unexpectedly. “I feel like the first album, it was very hectic, it was a rush. It was like all of a sudden, overnight craziness,” she said. Now, with time to breathe and reflect, she feels more grounded and intentional about her artistry.

Turning 24 has also played a significant role in shaping the sound and message of A-POP. “Look guys, I’ve been through stuff. I don’t know, I feel like a woman. I’m 24, it was my birthday the other day. I feel like a woman,” Tyla shared honestly. This sense of growth and self-awareness is expected to be a defining element of the upcoming album.

With A-POP, Tyla says she now understands her direction more clearly. “Now that I’m settled in, I feel like I know more of my direction. What I want to do, what I want to say,” she added. This clarity suggests an album that will be more intentional, expressive, and reflective of her lived experiences.

Fans can expect A-POP to showcase a more evolved Tyla—one who is comfortable in her skin, confident in her voice, and fearless in her storytelling. While specific details about the tracklist and release date are yet to be revealed, anticipation is already building as listeners prepare for a project that promises growth, depth, and authenticity.

With A-POP on the way, Tyla is once again poised to leave a powerful mark on the global music scene.
