The nostalgic essence of amapiano’s golden era—when the sound touched every emotional and sonic spectrum—appears to be making a strong return. Rising producer Tribesoul is leading that revival with the upcoming release of his new project, “Backroom Music,” a carefully curated body of work that promises depth, groove, and authenticity.

Set for release on all major streaming platforms this coming Friday, February 6, Backroom Music is a compact yet potent offering. The project features seven core tracks and one bonus song, all rooted in the rich textures of Private School Piano and Sgidongo. Known for his refined production style and soulful arrangements, Tribesoul uses this project to fully explore these sub-genres while keeping the dancefloor firmly in mind.

The album also boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, bringing together some of the most respected and exciting names in the scene. Contributions from Musa Keys, Lowbass DJY, MDU aka TRP, Tots SA, and others help shape a project that feels both collaborative and cohesive. Each feature adds a unique layer, enhancing the emotional range and sonic diversity of the project.

Tribesoul’s rise has been anything but quiet. Throughout 2025, he enjoyed a massive run, holding down his position as one of the leading figures in the Private School Piano movement both locally and regionally. His consistency and musical growth also earned him recognition beyond niche audiences, as he broke into the national Top 20 Amapiano artists to watch. Backroom Music feels like a natural continuation of that momentum—focused, intentional, and confident.

Rather than delivering an overly long album, Tribesoul opts for a concise collection of bangers designed to leave a lasting impression. From soulful love themes to late-night grooves and jazz-infused arrangements, the project reflects the producer’s versatility and deep understanding of amapiano culture.

Backroom Music Tracklist:

  1. Uthando Lwam – Tribesoul ft. Nele SA
  2. Phathaphatha – Tribesoul & Musa Keys ft. Divine & Toby Franco
  3. Midnight Express – Tribesoul & MDU aka TRP & Tots SA
  4. Back Room Music – Tribesoul ft. Tots SA
  5. Dlala – Tribesoul
  6. Jazz Series – Tribesoul ft. Blissful Sax, Happy Jazzman & Jazzmique
  7. Woza Cartel – Tribesoul ft. Lowbass DJY & Housexcape
  8. B4 (Bonus Track) – Tribesoul

With Backroom Music, Tribesoul is not just releasing new music—he’s reaffirming his place as one of amapiano’s most exciting and forward-thinking producers.
