Amapiano hitmaker Da Muziqal Chef is entering 2026 with renewed clarity, confidence, and a deliberate focus on brand building, marking a defining chapter in his journey as one of the genre’s quiet pioneers. In a candid conversation with TheJournalistDJ.com, the producer reflected on his roots, creative philosophy, and the strategic shift he believes is necessary for longevity in today’s music industry.

Introduced simply as “that authentic music producer,” Da Muziqal Chef reminded audiences that his contribution to Amapiano stretches back to its foundational years—long before the genre became synonymous with luxury aesthetics, viral dances, and mainstream hype. For him, the focus was always on sound, groove, and feeling.

“I never thought I’d be a superstar,” he shared. “But with the journey I took in music, I knew I would finally be one of those stars in that realm.”

His breakthrough moment arrived with John Wick, the career-defining collaboration with De Mthuda. The track resonated deeply across dance floors and streets alike, confirming his place within the movement. “That’s when I felt like I’ve arrived,” he said. “People were feeling the wave.”

Energy, he believes, was the true magic behind the record. “We had good vibes, good energy. Music without good energy doesn’t have purpose,” he explained—a philosophy that continues to shape his approach to collaboration and production.

Now, with Amapiano firmly established as a global sound, Da Muziqal Chef says 2026 is about stepping into the spotlight beyond the music. “This year is about bringing my brand up front. People must get to know my face,” he said. Fans have already noticed his increased visibility at industry events, content shoots, and digital platforms, signaling a calculated move in an era where presence is power.

He also emphasized the importance of content and storytelling, noting that many artists still underestimate digital platforms. “With the new times, artists must play digital. Social media is important,” he said, highlighting visibility as key to sustainable growth.

Creatively, Da Muziqal Chef remains open and evolving. While rooted in Amapiano, he’s exploring Afro House and Afro Tech, embracing versatility without abandoning his foundation. On AI in music, his stance is measured: innovation should be explored, but artistry must remain central.

Grateful for continued support, he closed with confidence: “Da Muziqal Chef, the brand is here to stay. I’m here for work.”
