Zee Nxumalo is stepping into the new year with confidence, clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose. Having turned 23 on 6 January 2025, the celebrated singer is already setting the tone for what lies ahead, guided by intention and shaped by a year that marked a major turning point in her career.

Reflecting on her successful 2025, Zee Nxumalo opened up in a recent conversation with Drum, sharing how meaningful the past year has been for her both professionally and personally. One of the standout moments was winning Song of the Year, an achievement she describes as deeply affirming. “Winning Song of the Year has been incredibly affirming for me. It feels like a moment where all the work, the faith, and the patience came together in a way I’ll never take for granted,” she said.

The recognition, however, is something Zee Nxumalo sees as a shared victory. She took a moment to express heartfelt gratitude to those who have supported her journey from the beginning. “Ngibonga kakhulu (thank you) to everyone who has supported me and believed in the music,” she shared. “I’ve always trusted the process and let the music speak, and to see it connect so deeply with people means everything.”

For Zee Nxumalo, the award symbolizes more than a single hit. It represents consistency, growth, and resilience. “This win isn’t just about one song: it’s about growth and consistency for me,” she explained, highlighting the long-term mindset she has cultivated in an industry often driven by quick wins and fleeting moments.

As she enters a new year and a new age, Zee Nxumalo says her intentions are firmly rooted in self-awareness and balance. “My focus is really on intention,” she revealed. “I want to move with more clarity, protect my joy, and stay grounded in who I am outside of the noise and the industry.” Her words reflect a maturity that goes beyond her years, showing an artist who understands the importance of inner peace alongside professional success.

With big dreams on the horizon and a clear sense of direction, Zee Nxumalo is embracing 23 as a year of alignment and purpose. As she continues to grow her artistry and personal brand, fans can expect music and moments that are deeply intentional, authentic, and reflective of who she is becoming. The new year has only just begun, and for Zee Nxumalo, the journey forward looks brighter than ever.
