Tman Xpress Sets His 2026 Vision: Where Amapiano, Soccer and Spirituality Collide

South African Amapiano vocalist Tman Xpress has shared a powerful glimpse into his evolving artistic journey, revealing a vision for 2026 that goes far beyond music. In a candid conversation with TheGeneralistDJ.com, the artist reflected on growth, purpose, community building, and the spiritual foundation guiding his next chapter.

What began as a lighthearted exchange — sparked by a recent soccer-related injury — quickly evolved into a deeper discussion about an innovative weekly soccer initiative Tman Xpress is championing. Held every Wednesday, the sessions bring together artists from Amapiano, hip hop and other genres, using sport as a bridge between wellness, creativity and brotherhood.

For Tman, the initiative is intentional. In an industry often defined by late nights and demanding schedules, the soccer games promote balance, fitness and mental clarity. “We’re trying to create a relationship between music and sports,” he explained, noting that many artists once dreamed of professional soccer careers before finding their calling in music.

The movement is already looking toward formalisation. Tman Xpress revealed plans to seek support from government departments linked to sports, arts and culture, believing the crossover can inspire young people navigating uncertain paths. “Amapiano gave us direction again,” he said. “But many of us wanted to be soccer players first. It’s important to show kids that there are options.”

That vision will soon come to life in a genre-based soccer tournament featuring teams from Amapiano, Hip Hop and Maskandi. Tman Xpress will captain Team Jamboree, one of two Amapiano squads, in what he describes as a celebration of unity, culture and friendly rivalry.

The interview took place at the launch of Thuli P’s EP AVANA, where Tman Xpress features on the spiritually rooted track “Kubek’ukuya Ngam.” The song, rich in prayer and social reflection, reinforces his belief that music should heal and guide. “If it were up to me, this is how the world would be,” he said, pointing to themes of shared wealth, reduced poverty and moral balance.

Looking ahead to 2026, Tman Xpress revealed plans to expand beyond conventional Amapiano. His forthcoming sound draws from Afro-ancestral influences, traditional drums and slower BPMs, aiming to connect listeners to the roots of African music. “It’s not Afro House,” he clarified. “It’s ancestral Afro — sounds that connect you to where African music truly comes from.”

On AI-generated music, Tman remained cautious. While acknowledging its usefulness, he stressed that authenticity cannot exist without human emotion. “AI learns from us,” he said. “It can’t create from the soul.”

As he closes this chapter, Tman Xpress invites listeners to engage deeply with his catalog. Motivational, spiritual and intentional, his music, he says, is designed to heal — and he hopes those who feel it will continue to support the journey.
