South African producer and DJ Scotts Maphuma is once again making headlines, and this time, it’s for what could be one of his biggest career moves yet — a potential collaboration with Nigerian superstar Davido.
A recent video circulating on social media has fans buzzing with excitement after Scotts Maphuma and Davido were spotted having a friendly video call. In the clip, the two appear to be discussing music, with Davido seemingly hinting at a possible collaboration between them. Though neither artist has officially confirmed the project, the call has sparked massive anticipation across both South African and Nigerian music scenes.
Scotts Maphuma, who has been steadily rising in the Amapiano and Afro-house landscape, has worked with several top local acts and earned a reputation for his unique sound — a blend of smooth rhythms, soulful progressions, and infectious basslines. Collaborating with Davido, one of Africa’s biggest global stars, would mark a major step in expanding his influence beyond South Africa’s borders.
Davido, known for international hits such as “Unavailable,” “Fall,” and “If,” has never shied away from exploring diverse African sounds. His recent openness to Amapiano collaborations, including successful crossovers with South African artists, makes the idea of a track with Scotts Maphuma all the more believable. Fans are already speculating that their joint effort could bring together the best of Amapiano and Afrobeats, creating a sound that resonates across the continent and beyond.
Social media platforms have been buzzing since the video surfaced, with fans from both countries expressing their excitement. Many praised the potential collaboration as another step toward strengthening the unity between African artists and expanding the global reach of African music.
While details about the project remain unconfirmed, Scotts Maphuma’s confident smile in the video and Davido’s enthusiastic tone suggest that something big may already be in the works.
If this collaboration materializes, it could easily become one of the most talked-about releases of the year, uniting fans from Johannesburg to Lagos under one irresistible groove.
For now, fans are keeping a close eye on both artists’ social media pages, waiting for what could be the official announcement of a groundbreaking Scotts Maphuma x Davido track.
