TikTok has officially unveiled its Songs of the Summer 2025 for South Africa — a vibrant mix of viral sounds, dance challenges, and musical creativity that defined the season. The list not only celebrates the songs that dominated For You pages across the country but also underscores TikTok’s growing role in amplifying local artists and introducing South African sounds to the world.

From the chart-topping “Ngishutheni” to heavyweight collaborations like “Abantwana Bakho,” this year’s lineup confirms what fans already know — Amapiano continues to lead the charge as South Africa’s most influential and globally recognised genre.

Taking the top spot is “Ngishutheni” by Goon Flavour, Master KG, and Eemoh, an irresistible anthem that’s set both dancefloors and TikTok feeds alight. In second place, Khadeair’s “Magumba” maintains its grip as a viral favourite, while “Isaka (6am)” by CIZA, Jazzworx, and Thukuthela claims third with its silky Amapiano groove that fans can’t get enough of.

The list also highlights the power of collaboration — with artists like MaWhoo, GL_Ceejay, and Thukuthelaappearing multiple times, showing just how interconnected the local music scene has become. Whether it’s soulful vocals, infectious beats, or emotionally rich lyrics, each track reflects the creativity and community that drives South African music forward.

“Tiktok is where music truly comes to life,” says Toyin Mustapha, TikTok’s Head of Music Partnerships (UK, Ireland & SSA). “The Songs of the Summer show how music, community, and creativity come together to shape culture — proving that South African sounds are not just local anthems, but global movements.”

As the sun sets on summer 2025, one thing is clear: Amapiano isn’t just a genre — it’s the rhythm of a generation.
