Tyla, the rising music sensation, recently shared an intimate glimpse into her life with Billboard through a “Behind the Photo” feature. The segment, which delves into her adventures with her best friend, fashion, and Heritage Day, offers fans a personal look at the stories behind some of her favorite snapshots.

In one of the first photos, Tyla is at a skate park in Ghana. “This photo was taken by my best friend. We were in Ghana and went to a skate park, even though I have no idea how to skate,” she laughs. “But I had so much fun that day.” The picture captures the essence of their adventurous spirit and the joy of trying new things, even without prior experience.

The second photo Tyla discusses is a serene beach scene where she’s enjoying sushi. “Here we are in Cape Town, South Africa. We had a whole picnic and were having a girls’ day, gossiping at the Cape Town Beach,” she recalls. This snapshot highlights the simple pleasures of life, such as spending quality time with friends in beautiful settings.

Tyla also takes us through a vibrant photo celebrating Heritage Day. “I was feeling myself this day,” she says with a smile. “I woke up very early to do my edges, my head wrap, my outfit. I was feeling very fancy.” This image not only showcases her stunning style but also her deep connection to her cultural roots and pride in her heritage.

The last picture she shares is a throwback to her high school days, showing Tyla in her school uniform and shades. “This is the most iconic Tyla picture that would ever exist,” she declares. “This was in school with my best friend again. We had to organize clothes as the RCL (Representative Council of Learners) of the school, but we were playing around and not being serious. She took this picture of me, and the rest is history.” This nostalgic photo captures the carefree and playful nature of her youth, a reminder of the simpler times before fame.

Reflecting on these photos with Billboard, Tyla offers fans a window into her personal journey, filled with fun, friendship, and cultural pride. Each image tells a story of its own, illustrating different facets of her life and personality. Beyond her hit-making music, it’s clear that Tyla cherishes the moments and memories that shape who she is.

As Tyla continues to rise in the music industry, sharing these behind-the-scenes glimpses adds depth to her public persona. Her ability to reflect on and celebrate these personal milestones alongside her best friend, fashion moments, and cultural celebrations shows a young artist who is not only talented but also deeply grounded and connected to her roots.
