Born and raised in Pretoria, Sebetso was a footballer prior pursuing a music career as a rapper, released his debut studio album Sgubhu Ses Excellent (2020).
A Twitter account by the username Kea Zawadi shared a video of a young girl singing Focalistic’s hit single ‘Tobetsa’ in a chilled and calm version. The lady in the video created the RnB version of the track and asked fans how they find the version with the band and guitar style. In November 2020, he joined RADAR African programme by Spotify. Focalistic revealed track listing and announced release date in 25 November. Sghubu Ses Excellent was released on 4 December 2020.In February 2021, his remix “Ke Star”, featuring Davido and Virgo Deep was released globally. The single received enormous international success and charted at number 16 on Billboard Top Triller Global chart in the U.S.
Focalistic is one of the pioneers of the Amapiano genre. He is a versatile artiste who has carved a niche for himself that he calls āPina Tsa Ko Kasiā.He released his first single, ā19 Tobetsaā with Major League Djz in 2018. He went on to release 2 EPs in 2019. He released his single, āKe Starā featuring Virgo Deep in April 2020, followed by the remix in February 2021 featuring Davido and Virgo Deep. The remix received huge international success, charting at number 16 on the Billboard Top Triller Global Chart in the US.
