She has stated that she was born into a religious family. Her late father was a pastor, and so was her mother. They both supported her music career. She currently resides in Johannesburg.

Cici became very passionate about music at a young age. She was inspired by the late Brenda Fassie, and Lebo Mathosa. She has stated that she studied to the University level after which she dropped out to focus on her music. She was studying Psychology at the time.
