Amapiano Awards Return For Its Second Amnual Year

Amapiano Awards Return For Its Second Amnual Year. Amapiano is a genre that has been growing locally and and abroad over the past year. The first Amapiano Awards were held on the 23rd October 2021 and Opulence Radio was part of this first awards ceremony for the Amapiano Genre. The awards are returning for their second annual year.

The Awards official page took to social media to announce that the second annual amapiano Awards are returning. The nominees are set to be announced on the 9th of February 2023, and they will be hosted by amapiano stars Vyno Miller and Khanyisa. Check it out:

The first batch of winners were announced at the same venue on 27 August 2022. The second day of the awards ceremony, which was hosted by Nandi Madida, Lawrence Maleka, Mpho Popps, Robot Boii and Alphi Sipho Mkhwanazi, featured performances from Stogie T, A Reece and Tshego, with an emotive tribute to the late Riky Rick. Other performers include Makhadzi, Takie Ndou, Shekinah, Musa Keys, Konke, Da Capo and Lloyiso.

Boohle and Kamo Mphela won two awards apiece – the former taking home the Best Amapiano Newcomer and Best Amapiano Vocalist awards and the latter triumphing in the Best Amapiano Dance Act and Amapiano Artist of the Year categories.Riky Rick and Lady Lu won the Friends of Amapiano and Best Female Amapiano Artist awards, respectively. The Best Amapiano Album of the Year Award went to De Mthuda for Ace Of Spades.
