Sizwe Alakine Reacts To His Biggest Milestone On YouTube Since His Name Change. Sizwe Moeketsi Moniker (born June 30, 1987), is a South African rapper commonly known as Reason and now known as Sizwe Alakine after pursuing Amapiano career. Reason made headlines after deciding to take a swing at amapiano as Sizwe Alakine. The rapper collaborated on a song with DJ Maphorisa titled Khanda Shisa in July. The rapper unpacked his decision to release the song under the name Sizwe Alakine.

“Ujola Nobani” serves as the first track from the star this year, and also might be living to the expectation after promising fans of hit tracks back to back. Prior to the track, he also hinted on a new track which he’s working with Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. His song is trending at number 50 on YouTube, and he shared that in his career he has never made it to the trends list on the platform, and being Sizwe Alakine has made that possible. “I’ve never made it to the trends list on @youtube. Being Sizwe Alakine has changed my life for the better. Shout out to the team beside me and all the fans behind me! Maybe then I’ll just drop the song when we get to 200k views,” he shared.

The endurance rapper shared that he was always keen on using his real name, Sizwe, to venture into other genres but DJ Maphorisa suggested that Sizwe needed something more to it.Reason explained that Mpura had a song where he kept chanting “Alakine”. Mpura told Reason that “Alakine” is something you can give your own meaning to.
