Touring DJ, music producer, radio host and creative entrepreneur, Kutloano “Da Kruk” Nhlapo has scored another memorable moment, this time with his Amapiano mix being featured on Brooklyn, New York-based radio station, Half Moon.
Half Moon is a new age cultural institution founded in Brooklyn. It is an independent music and media company that covers and reinforces emerging culture around the world through radio, events, editorial and educational workshops with headquarters in New York City and Los Angeles.
Da Kruk has been an important name in the awareness and put-on of the ever-expanding, and now international, South African Amapiano genre.
“I curated this mix last year while deep into the pandemic, after even forgetting about the submission, I received a DM via Instagram from Half Moon this week notifying me about this. I must say, this is an exciting start to a new month.” says Da Kruk.
Half Moon aired Da Kruk’s No Visa mix today (Thursday 2 September) from 6PM until 7PM (New York time). South Africans can still tune in and catch it a few hours later at midnight on Friday morning.
Endlessly investing in his brand, Da Kruk is always looking for new avenues to tap into and will stop at nothing to showcase to international platforms what South Africa has to offer from a music and creative perspective.
