After ending 2023 with the release of his well-received album, Baba Yaga, De Mthuda is ready to share his first release of the new year: the new music video for Baba Yaga’s lead single, Muntu Wam.

With Valentine’s Day less than a month away, it’s fair to say that romance is in the air and nobody has captured the mood better than De Mthuda on his latest music video. Muntu Wam has already scorched the digital charts in the time since Baba Yaga’s release, reaching 630,000 streams on Spotify and nearly150,000 on YouTube in less than a month.

The video sees De Mthuda whisking his bae to a beautiful private villa as he goes on to profess his love with a series of romantic gestures. While this story unfolds, viewers are treated to collaborators, Sino Msolo and Murumba Pitch’s appearance on site.

Muntu Wam is directed by Big Shark, who brings a cinematic touch to each scene – adding to the sense of romance in the story on-screen. The video also does a great job of show casing the beauty of local travel in South Africa and is complemented by vibrant and colorful wardrobe.

The video for Muntu Wam is now available for streaming online and will be premiering on South African music television channels across the country. You can be one of the first to watch it by streaming below:
