“The Bond We Shared Was Special” – Cassper Mourns DJ Sumbody.Popular South African music producer and the creator of the viral Amapiano sound, DJ Sumbody, was on Sunday shot dead in South Africa. According to Sunday World it was reported that Sumbody was shot dead in Johannesburg while traveling on Woodmead road when unknown gunmen sprayed his vehicle with a hail of bullets killing him and one of his bodyguards instantly.
Oupa John Sefoka allegedly ran into an unfortunate incident that led to his passing in the early hours of Sunday morning, November 20 … investigations are still ongoing. People expressed shock at the passing of the late star; including Cassper who left social media afterward till Monday night.
Cassper Nyovest resumed to social media after taking a day break to mourn his friend, DJ Sumbody. The DJ whose real name is Oupa Sefoka was confirmed dead on Sunday morning by his family members and music management. Resuming social media on Monday night, Cassper shared a video of how he bonded with Oupa during his video-ad shoot for his Billiato drink brand.Nyovest says he is pained by the DJ’s death as he had lots of plans.“My beautiful brother, Ntja ya Kota!!! You broke my heart. I won’t lie, ha ke shapo. You had big big plans!!!”
A Sandton police officer said that a third person, believed to be DJ Sumbody’s second bodyguard, was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being shot multiple times in the car.
The police have said they are looking for the suspects and are looking critically into the circumstances surrounding a gunshot.The DJ was set to perform at his Ayepyep fifth edition All White Vueve Picnic. The event was meant to be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
