Lady Du Reveals She Reveived 40k In Tips In Nigeria. With a career dating back to the early 2000s, singer, rapper, and DJ Lady Du found international success after refining her sound to become a leading figure in amapiano, which exploded as a worldwide phenomenon at the dawn of the 2020s. Hailing from a musical family (which includes her father, DJ Choc, and uncle, DJ Zan D), Lady Du naturally gravitated toward DJing as a child, and went on to win national competitions.

Though she was initially known for house music, Lady Du now works alongside some of the biggest names in amapiano (including DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small) and has produced hits like “Umsebenzi Wethu” alongside Busta 929, Mpura, Reece Madlisa, Mr JazziQ, and Zuma. Her rich vocals and commanding rasp are an ideal fit for amapiano’s subdued, synth-heavy grooves.

Lady Du revealed she received 40k from Tips only in Nigeria. She also mentioned that the club was full as crowds came out to support her. “I made 40k as tips from Nigeria 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 the club owner says he couldn’t believe how packed it was. It usually happens when the head liner is Nigerian 😭😭😭😭 im still in soooo much shock yesterday was magical,” she wrote.

If anyone should know how important choosing your company is it’s Lady Du. She shared in late February that she was finally free from the shackles chaining her when she was battling management woes.Taking to her Instagram timeline at the time she said she was thrilled she could finally close that chapter.“I am finally free, I’m so happy,” she said.

Lady Du says it’s been a decade since she opened her company and now it’s time to shake things up by expanding. Taking to her Instagram timeline on Tuesday, she shared the logo of Lady Du Entertainment, saying it will now only focus on girls who want to make it big in the industry because it has matured.

“My company turns 10 years next year, because it will be fully matured I will be working and developing girls only. I feel like females go through so much, I won’t be signing people. I don’t believe in giving people fish, I buy equipment for them to fish. Right now I’m building as much as I can to make sure they don’t have to look anywhere for sponsorship unless it’s brands for a party! We don’t sign to labels! We are the labels,” she wrote
