Focalistic Compares Himself And Maphorisa To Jay-Z And Kanye West. Lethabo Sebetso professionally known as Focalistic, is a South African rapper. Sebetso was a footballer prior to pursuing a music career as a rapper, Sebetso released debut studio album Sgubhu Ses Excellent. Today, he is recognised as one of the biggest amapiano hitmakers in the country.

Self-proclaimed “President ya straata”, Focalistic, has not only ruled the streets of Mzansi this year, but across borders and cultures. He has done it using amapiano and his sonic catch-phrase, “Ase trap tse ke pina tsa ko kasi”, loosely translating to this is not trap music, it’s songs we listen to in the township. By taking the yanos to the world, the superstar from Garankuwa, northern Pretoria, has just compared both himself and DJ Maphorisa to American rappers Kanye West and Jay Z. “Nna le DJ Maphorisa = Kanye West le Jay Z 😈🚀2022 – Double the Zaka,” he wrote.

The two (Jay Z and Kanye West) had been working together since the ’90s, when West was recruited to produce tracks for JAY-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records. Over the years that followed, the two rappers were candid about their working relationship as it evolved into a hugely successful collaborative project, Watch the Throne.

In 2011 JAY-Z and West released their collaborative album, Watch the Throne and their friendship appeared especially strong. As soon as the album made its way online, it was basically like a global listening party via social media.
