Lady Du Promises To Gift A Fan Who Tied Her Shoes While Performing. Lady Du real name Dudu Ngwenya is currently one of the hottest voices in amapiano. The collective success of the tracks she’s featured on have catapulted her to household status, not only in South Africa but abroad too, as the world continues to root for amapiano. Her singles Dakiwe and Catalia are some of the most popular songs in the Amapiano scene and she features in Umsebenzi Wethu by Busta 929, Mpura, Mr JazziQ, Reece Madlisa, and Zuma.

Lady Du is in search of a fan who helped her tie her shoe while she was performing on stage recently. Taking to Instagram, Lady Du shared a video of a fan seen tying her shoe while performing is priceless. In her words, she is in search of him and will like to send him a gift. She said: “Someone help me find him I’d like to send him a gift he was sooo sweet man.”

The star first learnt how to play at the tender age of nine. Since then and during her early adult life, she had been trying to get a successful break into the music industry. She is the daughter of veteran R n B DJ Choc, and her uncle is DJ Zan D, meaning music runs in her blood. Her father taught her how to DJ before she could solve complicated Maths equations. At 9, she won her first DJing competition which was to set the pace for what was to come.

Lady Du said more than anything else, her brand is a representative of the hood. “That’s what I stand for, that’s who I am. I try to represent struggling kids who are fighting against odds to reach a certain level of success. This is why I strive to be as transparent as I can because most times, as brands, we put on a front to hide the true struggles we often have to endure in the music industry. My brand is more aligned with kwaito. It’s aligned with authenticity, understanding who I am, trying to break boundaries and not be stereotyped. So, I’d say I am an African kwaito queen!”
