South African singer-songwriter MaWhoo brought her signature style and presence to Paris Fashion Week as she attended MaXhosa Africa’s historic runway debut in the French capital.

The Amapiano vocalist turned heads while sitting in the front row at the fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2027 Women’s showcase, marking another significant moment for South African creativity on the international stage. Founded by acclaimed designer Laduma Ngxokolo, MaXhosa Africa made history as the first South African label to feature on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar.

MaWhoo celebrated the occasion on social media, sharing a glimpse of her Paris experience with her followers. Alongside photographs from the event, she wrote, “PARIS FASHION WEEK Styled by @maxhosa damn I’m obsessed 😍”.

For the highly anticipated showcase, the singer stepped out in a custom MaXhosa Africa ensemble that perfectly complemented the occasion. Her striking look featured a structured black corset top paired with a multi-patterned patchwork blazer draped elegantly over her shoulders.

The outfit was completed with a matching fringe skirt and a traditional headpiece, creating a look that brought together contemporary fashion and elements inspired by African heritage. The carefully curated ensemble allowed MaWhoo to make a statement while representing South African creativity on one of the world’s biggest fashion stages.

Her appearance also formed part of a wider celebration of South African culture during the fashion house’s Paris activities. Before taking her place in the front row for the main runway presentation, MaWhoo performed some of her popular songs at a Paris Heritage Day event hosted by MaXhosa Africa.

The performance gave the vocalist an opportunity to represent South African music while the fashion house showcased its distinctive approach to design. Together, the events highlighted the connection between music, fashion and cultural identity.

MaXhosa Africa’s Paris Fashion Week debut marks an important moment for the South African fashion industry, with the brand bringing its distinctive aesthetic and African-inspired designs to an international audience.

For MaWhoo, being part of the occasion added another memorable chapter to her growing career. The singer has continued to make her presence felt beyond music, and her appearance in Paris demonstrates how South African artists are increasingly becoming part of global cultural conversations.

From performing for an international audience to commanding attention in the front row, MaWhoo’s Paris Fashion Week appearance was a celebration of both personal style and South African creativity.

As MaXhosa Africa continues its journey on the international fashion stage, MaWhoo’s presence at the historic showcase provided a fitting representation of the vibrant connection between Mzansi’s music, fashion and cultural identity.
