Uncool MC and DJ Maphorisa have joined forces for another high-energy Amapiano collaboration, this time enlisting NTSAKO XVI, Focalistic and Shaun 101 for a brand-new track titled “Setla.”
The release brings together some of the most exciting names in South Africa’s dance music scene, resulting in a record packed with infectious rhythms, energetic production and the kind of club-ready energy that has become synonymous with the artists involved.
DJ Maphorisa’s ability to identify potential in music and add his signature touch to promising records remains one of his strongest qualities. Over the years, the acclaimed producer has demonstrated an impressive instinct for recognising songs that can connect with audiences, often stepping in with additional production, vocals or creative direction to push them to another level.
While some listeners may question how much influence he has on certain collaborations, it is difficult to deny the impact his contributions can have. Maphorisa has repeatedly shown that his presence can transform a promising record into something with undeniable dancefloor appeal.
One example is “Izolo,” his collaboration with Tyler ICU, Mpura, Daliwonga and Visca. The track became a major Amapiano favourite, with Maphorisa’s involvement adding another layer of energy and personality to the production. His contribution helped strengthen the record’s appeal and demonstrated why he remains such an important figure in the genre.
With “Setla,” Maphorisa once again brings that same instinct to the table. Working alongside Uncool MC, the pair have created a foundation that allows NTSAKO XVI, Focalistic and Shaun 101 to add their own distinct flavour to the track.
The collaboration is particularly exciting because of the different creative identities involved. Focalistic brings his established ability to deliver energetic performances, while Shaun 101 and NTSAKO XVI add further depth to the record. Together, the artists create a sound designed to keep listeners moving.
For Uncool MC, working with a heavyweight such as Maphorisa also provides an opportunity to introduce “Setla” to an even wider audience. Maphorisa’s influence across the Amapiano landscape and his ability to connect records with DJs, clubs and streaming audiences make him a valuable collaborator.
“Setla” arrives as another reminder of the collaborative spirit that continues to drive South African Amapiano forward. With its high-energy production and impressive lineup, the song has all the ingredients needed to dominate dancefloors, playlists and airwaves.
If the artists’ track records are anything to go by, “Setla” could be another major addition to the Amapiano soundtrack of the season.
