Amapiano DJ, producer and vocalist Mordecai has officially released his latest single, “Cabanga Nje,” bringing together NTK101 and frequent collaborator JayJayy for a soulful new offering. The release adds another exciting collaboration to Mordecai’s growing catalogue while remaining rooted in the mellow and emotional sound that has helped establish his identity within the genre.

The Katlehong-born artist shared the news alongside the single’s cover artwork, confirming that “Cabanga Nje” is now available across major streaming platforms. Keeping the announcement simple, Mordecai wrote, “Cabanga Nje out now,” signalling that the wait was finally over for fans who had been following the song’s rollout.

“Cabanga Nje” translates to “Think About It” in isiZulu, with the song centred around a romantic message about love, commitment and building a future together. The record explores the idea of two people growing old together while imagining the possibility of creating a beautiful family.

JayJayy’s involvement adds another layer to the vocal character of the song, while NTK101 joins Mordecai in shaping the collaboration. Together, the artists create a record that maintains its emotional focus while allowing each contributor to bring their own personality to the music.

The release comes after weeks of anticipation, with Mordecai and JayJayy previously sharing teasers that attracted attention online. The snippets quickly became a talking point among listeners, with fans using the previews for lip-syncs, duets and dance content while waiting for the complete song.

That anticipation has now culminated in the official release of “Cabanga Nje,” giving audiences the opportunity to finally experience the full collaboration. Distributed through Rapture Music Group, the single is now available for listeners to stream.

For Mordecai, the release continues a catalogue that includes “Di Kgomo,” which has surpassed nine million Spotify streams, as well as “Phesheya.” His music is often recognised for its softer interpretation of Amapiano, incorporating soulful chords, deep melodies and laid-back rhythms.

Mordecai has steadily developed a distinct presence as a DJ, producer and vocalist, demonstrating his ability to move between production and performance while maintaining the emotional quality associated with his work.

“Cabanga Nje” further highlights that musical identity. Rather than relying on an overly complicated concept, the song keeps its focus on affection, partnership and the future, making its romantic message easy to connect with.

With Mordecai, NTK101 and JayJayy combining their talents, “Cabanga Nje” delivers a soulful love story wrapped in a smooth Amapiano sound.

After building anticipation with teasers, the full record is finally here, giving fans the chance to stream and experience the collaboration for themselves.
