Instagram Recognizes Uncle Waffles. The Eswatini native’s career kick-started overnight due to the power of social media when she reached millions of viewers. It was October of 2021 at Zone 6 nightclub in Soweto, South Africa when she filled in for a withdrawn DJ and didn’t know her life would change forever.

Uncle Waffles gets acknowledged by Instagram. The social media platform has an official account with over 600 million followers on it.

Photos and videos of the Swazi-born star were shared on a post and the caption started with, “This is Amapiano.”Instagram quoted the DJ and talked briefly about her.“Meet @unclewaffles_ (Uncle Waffles), the 23-year-old Swazi-born DJ who’s spreading amapiano music to the world, starting with a sold-out debut show in New York.”

“Two years ago I had 3,000 followers; today I curated a show in New York with 3,000 people,” she says. “Thank you guys so much — for loving me.” ⁣⁣⁣⁣“Get ready to fall in love (and party) with Waffles in a #10Things amapiano edition.”Check out the 10 things in post below:

Initially, Waffles never dreamed of becoming a DJ, but while working for a local Eswatini TV station in 2020, she became mesmerized by the art form. She just wanted to learn, so a DJ who often visited the office dedicated his time to teaching her, not knowing she could fall in love with something she wasn’t into. “He said you only need two months to learn; the rest is just practice. So it just went from randomly asking someone one day to me spending nine months – eight hours every single day learning,” she revealed.
