Nadia Nakai On Doing Amapiano Full Time: “I Wouldn’t Be Able To Sell It”. Nadia Nakai is a South African Hip Hop recording artist who grew up in Johannesburg. After attending high school in Kenya, she completed a degree in marketing communications and media studies at Monash university. Her family and heritage dates back in Zimbabwe where her origins lie.
Nadia Nakai got people excited when they saw her jumping on an amapiano beat, however the star has come out to reveal what is in the cards for her in the amapiano genre. “Not do piano as in like release it, but collaborate, yes. I did an amapiano track with Major Steeze titled ‘Delicious’. I’m not looking to release it because it is not authentic to me and I will not be able to release it. Maybe Rapiano but I’d still have the elements to dance to it, and I can’t dance like that. So Hip Hop is for me, and I’d never jump to piano just because it is popular, No. It’s not even about money, because I’ve built enough equity behind the Bragga brand.”
She also revealed that a song with her rapper boyfriend, AKA is on the cards. “I don’t know about a joint project, but definitely a song. I mean, we’ve been working together on songs. We do have a lot of songs, so definitely, something will be coming out that I know – hopefully soon. But there are songs that are in the bank between the both of us.”
