It was be held at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, United States on 4 September 2022. Wizkid lead nominations with ten, Tems and Ayra Starr with eight each. Davido and Adekunle received seven each.

He won with his album, Carpe Diem. Also, Wizkid’s hit song ‘Essence’ featuring Tems, won the Best Collaboration and Best R ‘n’ B single at the 15th Headies holding in Atlanta.Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Wizkid also won Album of the year with his ‘Made in Lagos (Deluxe Edition).
Wizkid bagged nominations in Male Artiste Of The Year, African Artiste Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Music Video, and Best Collaboration categories.Wizkid also appeared in other categories like Best Recording, Best R&B Single, Best Afrobeats Album, Album Of The Year, and Viewers Choice.
