Emotionz DJ Opens Up About His Upcoming EP With Soa Matrix. Mpumalanga-born DJ, producer, and radio presenter Emotionz DJ real name Humphrey Mpila has been in the entertainment industry for a while now. Emotionz DJ’s understanding of music came at an early age. Born in Mpumalanga, South Africa, his passion for music was ignited by artists he loved listening to –Louie Vega, Dj Kent, Franky Knuckles, and Hugh Masekela.
Mpumalanga-born DJ, producer, and radio presenter Emotionz DJ says he and acclaimed amapiano DJ Soa Mattrix will soon drop the EP they have been working on for a year. “I chose to work with Soa Mattrix because we share the same production taste when it comes to music, and we have been brothers for quite a long time and understand each other when it comes to the soulful sound of Amapiano,” DJ Emotionz told News24 publication.
His latest offering is titled ‘Inhloso’ (intention). The song is an apology from a guy to his girlfriend. On the single he features Soa Mattrix and Murumba Pitch, and Happy Jazzman. “The single is about a guy who messed up in his relationship, and he is trying to apologise and get his girl back. It wasn’t his intention to her hurt her, and he’s pleading that they fix things,” said the DJ.
He shared that he chose to also work with Murumba because of his “amazing” vocals. “We just felt that he was the right person to jump on the beat because he has a unique voice, and it blends nicely with the song. He is very jazzy and understands what we are looking for when we want to lay down chords,” he said.
