Heavy K Claims Jorja Smith Allegedly Stole His Beats For Her Amapiano Song. Produced by GRAMMY-nominated producer and DJ Guilty Beatz, the Amapiano-inspired cut offers a contrast of Smith’s sombre vocals and the hypnotic production. The song sparked controversies on social media with Amapiano artists and fans.

Heavy K took to social media allegedly claiming that Jorja Smith stole his beats on his 2014 hit singe ‘Easy To Love’ featuring Bucie. This was followed by fans who then fast played the song which they concluded sounds exactly like it, but they slowed it and called it amapiano. Heavy K plead with South Africa to get into the matter. “Dear South Africa , for the first time in my life, I’m asking you guys to park here,” he wrote.

Amapiano artists also reacted to Jorja’s song, feeling sorry for Heavy K. The star then mentioned that he is ‘already in talks with his legal team’. See tweet:

Eish sis, but already in the talks with my legal team.🙏🏽

Speaking to Hypebeat publication, Jorja Smith explained how the amapiano song came about. ““I met Guilty when I went over to Port Antonio in Jamaica for a writing camp in 2019. He’s so wonderful to work with and when we initially started the song, it was more a fall to the floor type beat. He’s shared Amapiano playlists with me before and then during the first lockdown in 2020, he sent me a version of the song like it is now. We then finished writing the song remotely, exchanging messages over WhatsApp with his girlfriend Abby who is also a writer,” she said in a statement. “It’s all about someone who doesn’t deserve you and thinking wow, you really had all of my once, ew.”
